Add the soaked black beans to the pot and enough water to cover everything by about 2 inches. Bring the mixture to a boil. 3- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for about 2 hours or until the beans are tender. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve the feijoada with rice, sliced oranges, farofa, and sliced collard greens, if desired.
